Generation

In September 2023, my (then) classmates Brait, Priska and I had a goal to create a start-up company within the digital marketing market. It was a lot of brainstorming, and it took us a while to come up with what we did. However, in the end, we got to create something we all are proud to share. Please take a look at the creative process of the creation of 'Generation, web design & digital marketing company'.

First prototype

Customer Personas

In order to make the prototype we first had to research the market and its customers. More importantly, customers' wants and needs. To get the most direct answers to our burning questions we thought it would be most appropriate to interview working individuals within our network. To be more specific, each of our team members spent over 2 weeks interviewing newly started business owners to find out exactly what it is that they are searching for within the services we were to provide.  

The interview results were then collected and made into 3 Customer personas. In these pictures to the right, you can find a summarised overview of our final customer personas and their needs.

Website Prototype

As you might know, the entire process of prototyping does not stop after the first few drafts. It is a process you continue until the very last steps, right before the finalisation of your project. Our prototype process was no exception to this whatsoever.

We have been very easygoing with the prototyping in the earliest stages, as our goal was to truly enjoy the creative aspects. By doing this we hoped to obtain the most authentic results within our design. It is also for that reason that we did not focus too much on creating elements such as the wireframe prior to our first prototype draft.

Here you can see the first layout designs for the 'Homepage' and 'Service page' prototypes.

Additionally, we came up with our first draft of design choices such as colour pallets, returning elements, and overall branding.

Development

For the development of our website, we made guiding elements such as a wireframe, user flow and skeleton. All of them can be viewed below. 

We wanted to prioritise smooth navigation as well as a high level of interactivity and easy usage regarding the navigation of the website.

SEO Analysis

The five points give an overview of our website that shows the idea and reasoning behind the elements of our website.

1. Customer-centric content together with animated text while scrolling down the page helps make the website more interactive and hold the interest of the user to continue exploring our page. 

2. Alt. text image helps to crawl bots detect images and video into text ultimately increasing the credibility of our website. 

3. Internal links increase the credibility of the website and provide an overview of different pages of the Generation website. 

4. Compressed images to increase load screen. This plays a huge role as internet speed by user varies and making it accessible for a variety of aspects is vital for user-friendly web flow. 

5. Incentivising Call-to-action to guide website users to hire us for our services.
